August 17th, Deerfield
Builders Supply and FBMA are presenting the
EPA Lead-Based Paint Remodeling, Repair & Painting Program.
It will be held at the Deerfield Beach Hilton from 8AM-5PM.
Lunch, class materials, EPA certification and 7.5 hours of CILB
approved contractor continuing education is included. DBS is
a member of FBMA; our customers would qualify for a special rate of
$275.

- DBS’ Mark Stalter and Matt Hillstrom received their
certification as
Certified Lead Remodelers.
March 2010 - DBS’
Brad Wanzenberg received certification from the EPA as
a
Certified Lead Remodeler. In preparation for the
EPA’s new regulations governing the management of lead hazards
in Remodeling and Repair projects coming into effect on 22 April
2010, Wanzenberg has earned the designation needed to qualify
DBS Construction Services as an authorized and certified RRP
Lead Paint Contractor. This certification is now a
requirement for any contractors performing remodeling work in
houses built before 1978. The new EPA regulations broaden
and strengthen the administrative and field work procedures and
practices necessary to demonstrate the safe management of lead
hazards in such construction areas. As mandated by the
EPA, beginning this month every contractor (GC and ALL subtrades)
involved in these projects must be certified and approved by the
EPA.

March 2010 - Congratulations to DBS'

Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). The CAPS program goes beyond universal design to create strategies
and techniques for designing, remodeling, and building aesthetically
enriching, barrier-free living environments.
Aging-in-place means remaining in one's home safely, independently,
and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. |

Deerfield Builders Supply has received its
FSC Chain of Custody certification, SCS-COC-002744,
under the Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) Forest
Conservation Program. FSC Chain of Custody
Certification means that a company meets strict tracking
requirements for ensuring that products they sell as FSC-certified
come from a well-managed forest. |

An AKBD is an industry professional with documented experience and
education in the kitchen and bath industry which ensures the AKBD
is a trained, qualified professional in the kitchen and bath
